Determining the Resolution
Printer Determining the Resolution
The inkjet cartrdiges printer head is similar to that of
a dot-matrix. Instead of having pens, though, it has nozzles.
Some inkjet cartridges printers have 12 nozzles, but 32 nozzles is
more common. The print quality of inkjets varies from worse
than dot-matrix printers to better than laser printers.
Most fall somewhere between the best dot-matrix and laser
printers. The best inkjet cartridges printers can print
at the same resolution (300 dpi) as a laser.
The combination of ink chemistry and paper type determines
print quality. Some inkjet printers offer different types
of ink for different types of paper. When the ink does not
match, the printout quality suffers. In fact, copier machine
paper has two sides. One side causes the correct ink from the ink cartridge to
bleed all over the paper. When printed on the other side,
the ink looks fine. Some inks are water-soluble, so a drop
of water can ruin the page. Other inks come in pellets;
the pellets melt inside the printer. This is how the raised-ink
cartridges printer works.
When print quality does not look good with an ink cartridges
printer, try turning the paper over. If this does not work,
try changing to more expensive paper.
