Printer Manual Feed
Some laser engines sense when paper is in the manual feed
slot and grab paper from that location. Other laser engines
have to be told to look for a piece of paper in the manual
feed location using the front panel or software in the PC.
Still more engines force removal of paper trays in order
to activate the manual feed feature. If you are planning
to manually feed paper, you should investigate this last
feature of the printer before you buy it.
The manual feed button in the Print dialogue box of
a Macintosh application is there for the purpose of pausing
between pages so that you can insert pages manually into
the ImageWriter. If you are printing just one sheet on a
LaserWriter, the manual feed button does nothing. Just stick
the piece of paper in the manual feed slot and print.
