Printer Paper Trays
Do not use paper that contains too much acid. The pH should
be 5.5 at a minimum. The paper most not scorch, melt, offset
material, or release hazardous chemicals as it goes over
the fuse bar. The fuse bar melts toner into the page at
200 degrees Celsius. Horizontal lines across the page are
this hot for only 0.1 seconds; still, the paper can be hot.
The fuse assembly normally is kept at a temperature of around
110 degrees Celsius. It jumps to 200 degrees when paper
is inserted.
Squid inkjets : Be careful when you run letterhead through the laser
printer. Sometimes the ink used in the creation of the letterhead
melts or is destroyed in the laser. In the worst case, it
could gum up your fusing rollers.
Like inkjet paper, laser and copier machine paper prints
on one side better than another. The text looks better and
the paper jams less. Look for some mark on the packaging
material that indicates which side should be printed on.
