Printer Reviewing Printer Manuals
Printer manuals are often a good indication of how many
problems there will be with the printer. The following is
a series of informational items that should be in a printer
manual. If these items are not in the manual, don't purchase
the printer. Otherwise, there may be many problems down
the road that even experts cannot solve.
* A page that lists all the characters the printer can
print.
* A sample page describing all the fonts the printer can
print.
* A web section describing the programming language of
the printer. You don't have to understand it, just find
it.
* A description of every printer emulation that the printer
supports.
For example, if the printer supports Epson LQ emulation,
look for a list of Epson LQ software commands. Many companies
offer emulation with no documentation.
