Do you know that printers differ much more
than PCs. Daisywheel printers are popular one year and out
the next. Previously, 24-pin dot-matrix printers were the
hot item; now, inkjet printers using inkjet cartridges and
laser printers using toner cartridges are hot. Because printer
technology is changing so rapidly, Squid inkjets is dedicated
to provide more information specifically oriented towards
only printer hard-ware.
The goal of this learning center is to
help those people who want to purchase a printer. Knowing
about the printer you will buy and the inks that is needed
can save you from spending alot of money and wasting time
producing bad print outs.. This page and
the related pages in the learning center sets up guidelines
for you so that you can put together a shopping list for
printers (and its ink cartridges and toner cartridges).
You should be able to determine what you need, rather than
letting a salesperson or consultant make the decision for
you. If you are developing the rationale for a corporate
printing technology strategy, what we're listing here contains
the information to build your justifications.
If you already own a printer, you need
to know how it works in order to operate it properly and
handle any minor problems that arise. Information about
how your printer works is lacking in most printer manuals:
hopefully this learning center provides these details.

Dot-matrix, laser, and inkjet printers
& printer cartridges are covered in detail in the pages
following this one. Unfortunately for those who still owned
a fully formed daisywheel and thimble printers (we don't
think there is many out there), well they are are not covered,
because printer manufacturers are not designing new ones
and have sold off their inventory hence we don't have complete
information over them. The combination of 24-pin printers,
inkjets and lasers has completely destroyed the niche that
these printers had in the market.
