effects. Adobe Photoshop is the market-leading image editor
but there are plenty of equally capable and much cheaper alternatives
such as Adobe Elements and Corel Paint Shop Pro.
Photoshop offers unprecedented control over image quality
plus tight integration with Adobe's desktop-publishing programs,
but it is an expensive purchase and mastering its intricacies
takes a considerable amount of effort.
